ABOUT
Hi everyone! My name is Reena Natla, and I’m one of the Editors-in-Chief for East Lansing High School’s yearbook, Ceniad. I’ve been on staff for three years serving as a Writer, Coverage Editor, and now Co-Editor-in-Chief.

When I first joined yearbook, it was just an elective – a class I landed in by accident. But over time, it became so much more than that. Yearbook has taught me the power of storytelling, how a single spread can capture a moment, how a well-placed quote can give someone the recognition they deserve. Through my roles on staff, I’ve learned to navigate leadership and create an environment where every staff member feels supported. More than anything, yearbook has pushed me to believe in myself. I’ve struggled with self-doubt, questioning whether my work was good enough, but with every story I helped bring to life, I grew more confident in my ability to listen and uplift the voices of others.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and look over my portfolio!

As Co-Editor-in-Chief, one of my daily responsibilities is updating the class on upcoming deadlines and making sure we stay on track.
“Reena’s biggest strength is her ability to bring people together and see something in them that they might not have been able to see on their own.”
Maddie Shangraw (12), Co-Editor-in-Chief
“Through her drive to get the book done, and her understanding that anything can happen at any time, Reena helps the staff succeed immensely. Her determination to get everyone to do the best job they can never went down as the year went on, it only went up, which is reflected through the staff having more motivation now than ever before.”
Abby Minnick (12), Co-Editor-in-Chief
"Reena has demonstrated her leadership to me and everyone on the yearbook staff by being completely committed to making the yearbook the best it can be. She is amazingly patient and always takes the time and energy to answer every question thrown at her during yearbook thoughtfully. Her creativity when it comes to brainstorming ideas and problem solving is inspiring, and I walk away from conversations with her having more confidence in myself."
Grace Knake (11), Coverage Editor
"One of Reena's biggest strengths is that she is so kind and hardworking. She keeps everyone on pace, but does so where no one is ever afraid to come up to her and ask questions. She always lends an ear to people on staff, whether it's about our yearbook or just our problems at home. She makes sure to check in with anyone to ask and find help for them if they need it."

"My yearbook experience this year has been even more rewarding because of having Reena in class each day. She has always been someone you can rely on in yearbook class, and I truly mean it when I say that. There’s never been a time I’ve personally asked her for a favor and she’s denied it in any way. Without a doubt, if she were a superhero, her superpower would be compassion."
Treasure Kakaire (10), Second-year Writer
"Reena’s work ethic and commitment is obviously crazy high. She always has our mini deadlines ready on the calendar and is great at holding everyone to them. Reena has an ability to have people on staff respect her deadlines while still making sure that everyone feels comfortable and happy in the Ceniad environment. It can be very stressful and Reena does a great job of conveying that without making it overly hard."
